Attorney Cynthia James, the principal attorney, earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, magna cum laude, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude. During law school, Ms. James worked as a clerk with the Honorable Judge Susan Tate in the Athens-Clarke County Probate Court.
Following graduation from law school, Ms. James became an Assistant District Attorney with the District Attorney's Office for the Piedmont Judicial Circuit, working as a criminal prosecutor in all courts, including juvenile court, traffic court and Superior Court prosecuting serious drug and domestic violence crimes. Ms. James has practiced law in Northeast Georgia for over twelve years. Seven of those years, Ms. James has operated her own law practice in Winder, Georgia.

Cynthia James has been admitted to practice in the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia, the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia, and the United States District Court Northern District of Georgia as well as the Georgia State Bar. Ms. James is an active member of Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Georgia Bar Association and the Piedmont Bar Association.
